BINUS INTERNATIONAL’s GameLab Held the ICGGAG 2016

GameLab of BINUS UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL, supported by PPTIK ITB, CIEL SBM ITB, and IEEE Indonesia Section, held the International Conference on Game, Game Art, and Gamification (ICGGAG) 2016, an international game conference for various applications, for the first time in Indonesia, on Monday-Tuesday, December 19th-20th, 2016, at BINUS FX Campus, Jakarta.

The ICGGAG 2016 was a forum to establish cooperation among academics, experts, researchers, practitioners, and game application designers and developers of various application fields to discuss and spread new ideas and latest researches about all game aspects with social impact.

This international game conference was attended by Prof. Scot Osterweil (Creative Director of Education Arcade and Research Director at MIT Corporate Media Studies), Prof. Daniel Fung Shuen Sheng (Vice Chairman Medical Board at Institute of Mental Health Singapore), Dr. Tjhin Wiguna, Sp.KJ (‎children and teenagers psychiatrist, ‎Psychiatry Department, FKUI/RSCM), and Dr. Abi Jabar (Chairman of the Executive Board at Yayasan Dharma Bermakna). The conference was also attended by 50 individuals consisted of academics, researchers, practitioners, and presenters from eight countries.

In this first conference, in total of 41 from 81 papers submitted have already met the requirements. All of the 41 papers were presented in eight sessions and will be publicized in conference proceedings.

Brief Introduction of BINUS UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL’s GameLab

GameLab is an initiative by BINUS UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL to develop, promote, and communicate the researches in gaming sector that have social impact.

The main activities of Game Lab are:

1. Game/board game at work

A weekly activity that involves lecturers and students to understand and evaluate game with a chosen theme.

2. GameLab STAGE

GameLab STAGE (Seminar, Talk, and Gathering Event) is a monthly event by GameLab. Guest speakers from academics, researchers, and practitioners who have interest or experience in gaming technology are invited to talk about various topics.

3. Game Forum

The Game Forum is held once every three months and involves the members of Game Research Network to discuss various topics related to research and education in gaming sector.
