Students of BINUS Northumbria School of Design Create an Environmentally Friendly Fashion Design
The fashion design world never stops to create fashion trends in every season. Various fashion models are displayed in a line of boutiques, clothing stores, and online shops spread to the corners of the earth. This is an amazing phenomenon for designers to always develop their knowledge and innovation to create fashion works that has its own character.
No wonder there are many fashion design schools start popping up to equip designers in improving their knowledge and skills in terms of fashion design. Of course, as one of the leading educational institutions in Indonesia, BINUS also pays attention to the development of education not only in terms of technology, communication, economy, and law alone, but also in the fashion world. It is currently a highlight concern for BINUS in developing a good design school.
BINUS Northumbria School of Design (BNSD) is one of BINUS development units in the field of fashion design in collaboration with Northumbria University whose quality of education is undoubtedly acknowledged. Other than that, BNSD is the first design school in Indonesia that gives 2 degrees at once when graduating, namely a degree from BINUS and an international degree from Northumbria University. Therefore, as BINUS consistency in developing education in fashion design world, various fashion works of the students had been exhibited in front of hundred pairs of eyes in Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) event.
On Wednesday (22/4), BNSD students exhibited their work of fashion again at Plaza Senayan as well as to celebrate the mall’s 19th anniversary event. Hundreds of visitors crowded Plaza Senayan atrium to watch the fashion show of BINUS Northumbria School of Design (BNSD) students’ work of fashion. Corresponding to the theme of Plaza Senayan 19th anniversary – Green Concept, BNSD students created works of fashion made of environmentally friendly materials. Approximately there were 50 designs of clothes created by BNSD students showed in front of the visitors of the mall. Moreover, those works of fashion by BNSD students are going to be exhibited again in Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) 2015 event in Jakarta. (JR)
