Graphic Design Program Holds Photography Class Field Trip at Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex
The BINUS Northumbria School of Design (BNSD) regularly holds various activities to emphasize the importance of direct and practical experience for students. One of those activities is field trips, like the Photography I class field trip for exchange students that was held by the Graphic Design program on Friday, 16 March 2018, at the Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex, Senayan, Jakarta.
In this field trip, the students got a rare chance to explore almost every inch of the sports complex that will become the host of the Asian Games 2018, including the main football stadium itself. In the main stadium, they could also feel the experience of exploring the recently reconstructed stands and running track around the pitch.
Dianti Andajani, the Photography I class lecturer, said that this field trip was intended to provide basic photography training for the students. “Here, the students learn from the very basics. They learn about how to use the camera, how to take pictures with a shallow and deep depth of field, and many more,” she explained.
The reason why Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex was chosen as the field trip location, Dianti continued, was because the sports complex is located not too far away from the BINUS fX Campus. The fact that it was recently renovated – so not everyone can get access to enter – was also considered ideal because the surrounding area was still fresh and not crowded. Other than that, the Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex has a lot of photogenic objects too.
“I hope after this class, the students can take better photographs, and the skills as well as the knowledge can be useful in their lives,” Dianti concluded.
