Showcasing the Graphic Design and New Media Students’ Creations in Port o’ Folio 2020

BINUS Northumbria School of Design (BNSD) held the Port o’ Folio – an annual event that is also an opportunity for the Graphic Design and New Media (GDNM) students to display their fifth-semester assignments to the public.

Held from 8-14 February 2020 at BINUS fX Campus, fX Sudirman Mall, 6th floor, Jakarta, the Port o’ Folio 2020 was conducted as an opportunity for the students to learn how to build up their portfolio, develop their entrepreneurial spirit, as well as to find their strengths and unique creativity to be recognized by the public. In total 33 students were participating in this year’s Port o’ Folio.

In this year’s Port o’ Folio, the students from two programs in GDNM – the Graphic Design and the Interactive Digital Media Design – exhibited their creations based on their own expertise. The Graphic Design students showcased numerous artworks such as posters, books, product packaging, illustrations, photographs. Meanwhile, the Interactive Digital Media Design students presented the visitors with various virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR)-based applications and games.

Furthermore, the Graphic Design and New Media program also invited some partners and industry professionals to visit and contact the students directly if they were interested in hiring the students to work with in the related industry. Mita Purbasari, the Head of the Graphic Design and New Media program said that by participating in the Port o’ Folio, the students can prepare themselves to do the internship program in the sixth semester.

“I hope, through the Port o’ Folio, the students can be ready to face the outside world after learning so much in the classroom,” Mita said.
